donnie and brooke marrs
Donnie and Brooke Marrs are ecstatic to debut their dance together! When they answered yes to Baddour, they were pleased with the honorific of celebrity status! Donnie and Brooke met at one of Donnie’s gigs 21 years ago. They became friends and started dating several months later, sharing a New Years kiss at The Peabody eventually sealed the deal. A man of great courage and scheming, Donnie wanted to surprise Brooke for their engagement and did so in a way that she would have never guessed: in his apartment on a random Tuesday. He knew that Brooke was expecting a New Years proposal in the same spot where they shared their first kiss. They were married in November of 2010 and fall in love more and more every day.
Donnie grew up in Walls, Miss., and attended Horn Lake High School as well as Westwood High School. He played football, baseball and other sports. Not only is Donnie well versed in a multitude of areas, he is also a professional drummer, playing with Gabby Johnson for 16 years and now for Juno Marrs as well as a few other local bands. Donnie started playing drums as a small child following in the footsteps of his professional drummer Dad’s footsteps. He has shared the stage with. Loverboy, Michelle Wright, Charlie Daniels, Ingram Hill, Collective Soul, Blues Traveler, Tiffany, Confederate Railroad, The Beach Boys, KC Johns, and Furious George to name a few. He currently has weekly gigs in establishments in Desoto County and surrounding areas. You should come watch Juno Marrs in action! While performing as a rock star is what he does for fun, Donnie works in sales at ProTank in Olive Branch, Miss.
Brooke will tell you that she is frightened and excited for this experience - although she is no stranger to the stage. Brooke hails from West Memphis, Ark., where she also went to school. In her youth, she attended studio dance classes from Marion Burgess in West Memphis. She spent 10 years of her childhood learning techniques in Tap, Jazz, Ballet. Not only did she spend time in the dance studio, but she also played basketball and softball. Softball was her passion, playing as catcher for West Memphis High School. As an adult, Brooke studied at Arkansas State - Mid South and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. However, she has worked in the dental field since she was 20. Dentistry is what she is most passionate about. She currently works as the Scheduling Coordinator at Main Street Dental in Memphis.
Bringing it back to 2026, they enjoy time as a family with their son Wrigley. Donnie has been a Cubs fan his entire life. They knew they wanted a unique name for their child and Wrigley fit perfectly. He is named for the famous Chicago Cubs stadium, Wrigley Field. It just so happened that the Cubs won The World Series that year! For fun, they listen to live music and chase Wrigley in all of his extracurricular activities. They could not be more thankful for their friends and family who have supported them in all of their accomplishments, especially for believing in them during preparation for their big performance! They are so happy they said YES to Baddour and cannot wait to shake a leg on the dance floor.
