Dr. Bagwell is a native of Pearl, MS. He is happily married and the father of three daughters who are actively involved in Northpoint Christian School in Southaven, MS. He has a broad academic background and a diverse interest. He became a Christian in the ninth grade and felt a deep “call” on his life to serve others. Initially he felt the “call” was to serve others in a pastoral role. As such, he served as a Youth Pastor at White Oak Assembly of God Church for one and a half years until he transitioned to complete his first undergraduate degree at Evangel University, an Assembly of God Liberal Arts University in Springfield, MO. It was during this time he felt a change in the manor of service from that of a pastor to that of serving people’s healthcare needs. He entered the University of MS School of Pharmacy where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.  Immediately upon graduation, he enrolled at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS, where he had the honor to serve as Chief Resident. He continued to serve North MS Medical Center for six years at its rural hospital located in the Northeast corner of the state in a small city called Iuka. There he had the honor to lead that facility in the capacity of Chief of Staff, Director of the Emergency Department, and with the help of a great team, grew the clinic exponentially from two providers to five over six years’ time. He also received national recognition with NCQA for diabetes management and won top awards for the treatment of diabetes and congestive heart failure inside the NMMC system.

In August of 2013, he joined the Family Medical Clinic of North MS in Southaven, MS, where he had the great honor to continue to grow his clinical and leadership skills. However, feeling a calling to leave the Family Medical Clinic of North MS and a passion to restore a deeper sense of service to his patients, he opened Bagwell Medical Clinic in Senatobia, MS, on September 1, 2017.

Dr. Bagwell has a deep passion for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, or the typical diabetes seen in adults. He also has a deep passion for the treatment and prevention of heart attacks and strokes. He is also interested in the full array of adult, adolescent and pediatric medicine, which is why he decided to complete his residency training and board certification in Family Medicine.

On a personal note, Dr. Bagwell is interested in his family, competitive and defensive shooting, reading, and hunting. He is an active member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church on Elmore Road in Southaven where he serves as usher and facilitates the medical alert team.

Lastly, Dr. Bagwell is deeply passionate about medicine, about people, and about serving others above himself.
